Free WiFi QR Code Generator
Turn your WiFi password into a QR code for a hotspot, router, or home network. Guests scan once to connect — SSID and password stored in the code, no typing, no expiry. Free WiFi QR code maker with SVG and PNG download.
Short answer: A WiFi QR code joins guests to your network in one scan — no typing the password. Enter SSID, security type (WPA/WPA2/WPA3) and password above; the code works permanently and is generated entirely in your browser.

How WiFi QR Codes Connect Guests Instantly
A WiFi QR code encodes a standardized text instruction schema that mobile operating systems recognize. The encoded format: WIFI:S:MySSID;T:WPA;P:MyPassword;; contains all parameters required to handshake and join a wireless router hotspot. By displaying this code, guests can connect automatically with their phone camera without having to type complex passwords.
SSID Connection Security Standards
| Security Type | Standard Name | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| WPA/WPA2/WPA3 | WPA | Standard encryption for home and enterprise routers. |
| WEP | WEP | Legacy compatibility for routers from early 2000s. |
| No Password | nopass | Unsecured public wireless networks. |
How Scanning Works on iPhone and Android
iPhone / iPad
Open the Camera app and point it at the code. iOS shows a network-join banner at the top of the screen — tap it once and the device connects. No app download needed.
Android
Most Android phones (9 and newer) detect WiFi QR codes directly from the Google Camera or Google Lens viewfinder and offer a one-tap Connect prompt. Samsung devices show the same prompt inside their native camera.
Perfect for Guest Networks
Cafés, clinics, salons, guest houses and offices print this QR on tables, reception desks and door signs so visitors join the internet without staff reading passwords aloud. Best practice: create a separate guest SSID on your router that shares internet but not access to printers, shared drives or CCTV — then encode only that guest network in your QR code.
Security & Privacy Notes
- Generation happens entirely in your browser — the SSID and password you type are never uploaded to any server.
- The password is encoded inside the printed pattern itself, so anyone who can photograph the code can join the network. Place codes where only guests can scan them.
- Prefer WPA2 or WPA3 for the network you encode; use the nopass option only for open guest hotspots.
Troubleshooting
- Prompt never appears: the security type usually doesn't match the router (e.g. code says WPA but network uses WPA2-only mode). Re-select the correct option and regenerate.
- Password always rejected: special characters (
\;,:") must be escaped — this tool handles escaping automatically, so re-type the password rather than pasting pre-escaped text. - Joins but no internet: that's a router-side issue (guest isolation or bandwidth limits), not the QR code.

Which option fits you?
| Router setting | Pick this | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Home / shop WPA2 or WPA3 | WPA | Standard for modern routers |
| Very old router (early 2000s) | WEP | Legacy compatibility only |
